Postgraduate training on Analysis of dataset for measuring availability, access and nutrition status

The NFPCSP, funded by USAID and EU, organized in collaboration with IFPRI a workshop on “Analysis of dataset for measuring availability, access and nutrition status” that has been delivered from 15 to 26 January at the Bangladesh Academy of Rural Development (BARD), Kotbari, Comilla.
 
Twenty-eight professors and lecturers of different disciplines from 14 universities from across Bangladesh and 2 officials from the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management received training focusing on statistical tools and hands-on exercises applied to policy issues in food security and nutrition. The trainers were Professor Suryanarayana of the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research in Mumbai and Mr. Srinivasulu of Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi.
 
The objective of the training programme is to promote the capacity of the participants to deliver the academic training required to establish a diverse pool of food security practitioners, able to effectively analyze food security and related policy issues and capable of delivering relevant, reliable and timely inputs to food policy making.
 
This training will contribute to NFPCSP’s goal of enhancing national competency so as to effectively implement national food security policies and programs on a long term and sustainable basis.
