The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations leads international efforts to fight hunger and achieve food security for all. FAO and the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh are jointly implementing the National Food Policy Capacity Strengthening Programme (NFPCSP). The NFPCSP is instrumental in building Bangladesh’s institutional and human capacities to design and implement food security policies.

 

To assist in implementing the NFPCSP, FAO is recruiting a highly motivated and qualified Economist for a P4 post based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Interested candidates must possess, amongst others, an advanced university degree in economics or agricultural economics or related field; seven years of relevant experience in the fields of food security/poverty analysis, policy advice and research and capacity building (a Ph.D may substitute for 2 years of experience); and working knowledge of English.
