Objectives:
The objectives of this course
were to:
Provide a basic
understanding on food and nutrition and create/enhance nutrition awareness
among the policy analysts to promote the use of food based strategies in
addressing problems of malnutrition.
Recognize that utilization
of safe and nutritious food plays a major role in achieving food security.
Appreciate the inter-sectoral
nature of the National Food Policy (NFP) and other related policies that
include food, nutrition and other development components.
Emphasize nutrition
considerations in policy applications for promoting food security.
