Research Grants Panel (RGP)

The RGP is the body responsible for awarding the grants both for the Challenge Fund (CF) and for the Programme funded Research (PR). In the preparatory stages leading to the Calls for Proposals, the RGP reviewed and endorsed the Guidelines that were then approved by the Steering Committee on April 12^th 2007.

The RGP will approve the research proposals that will be awarded grants. Its decision will be based on the administrative screening to be carried out by the Research Grants Administrator and on the technical appraisal to be conducted by the Technical Assistance Team (TAT) who will propose a ranking of the proposals based on scoring criteria set in the Guidelines.

Composition of the RGP

Chair:  FAO Representative in Bangladesh

     -  Chairperson of the Donor consortium

     -  Representative from FAO’s ESA Division

     -  Representative from WFP

     -  Representative from FPMU, MoFDM

     -  Two representatives from Civil Society

     -  TAT Team leader (CTA)

     -  Representative from the Ministry of Food and Disaster

        Management (Joint Secretary)
